
Calm + Capable: Babysitting Training

Service Description
This small-group workshop is designed to help students feel confident, capable, and truly prepared to care for children. Created for students ages 12–16, this 4-hour, hands-on experience covers the essentials of babysitting... from understanding different ages and stages, to handling routines, safety, and real-life situations that can come up while caring for kids. Led by Sanctuary owner and American Heart Association BLS Instructor, Julie Diedrichsen, this workshop also includes the AHA Family & Friends CPR course so students leave with practical, life-saving skills, along with the confidence to use them when it matters most. What makes this class unique is the focus on not just what to do... but how to stay steady while doing it. Students will learn simple, realistic ways to stay calm, think clearly, and respond with confidence, even in challenging moments. Participants will learn: Basic childcare skills, including routines, feeding, and diapering Child development and age-appropriate expectations Safety awareness and how to respond to common situations Introductory first aid concepts Infant and child CPR skills Each student will leave with: Friends & Family CPR completion certificate A babysitting certificate of completion Real-life skills, and the confidence, to get started Class size is intentionally kept small (max 10 students) to create a comfortable, supportive learning environment with plenty of hands-on practice. Participants should be able to follow instructions, engage in group activities, and take part in hands-on learning.

Cancellation Policy
Advance Booking & Payment All classes, workshops, and events must be booked in advance through our online booking system. Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise noted. Class Cancellations Regular classes may be canceled at least 3 hours before the scheduled start time to avoid being charged. Cancellations made within 3 hours of class time or no-shows will result in the loss of the class credit or session fee. Special Events & Workshops Special events—including sound baths, live music classes, workshops, and guest-led offerings—have limited capacity and require advance planning. Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the scheduled start time are eligible for a refund minus processing fees. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the event are non-refundable. Special event and workshop bookings may be transferred to another person if you are unable to attend. Transfer requests must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time. To transfer your spot, please email the studio with the name and email address of the person attending in your place. Transfers requested within 24 hours of the event cannot be guaranteed. Waitlists If a class or event is full, you may join the waitlist. If you are moved into a class or event within the cancellation window, standard cancellation policies apply. Late Arrival To preserve the experience for all guests, late entry will not be permitted once class has begun as the door is locked at the beginning of class. If you arrive late and are unable to join, the session will be treated as a late cancel. No-Shows No-shows are not eligible for refunds, credits, or transfers. Cancellations by the Studio If a class or event is canceled by the studio you will receive a full refund or credit. Minors Participants under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or legal guardian complete and sign a waiver prior to participation. Participation will not be permitted without a completed parent/guardian waiver.
